Charm Pack Table Runner

Do you have a charm pack that you bought and now you just don’t know what to do with it?

How about making a disappearing nine-patch table runner? Disappearing nine patches are a great beginner quilter block, and table runners are quick!

All you need to make this table runner is:

• One charm pack (42 5″ squares)
• 1/2 yard coordinating binding
• 1 yard backing (I just use muslin)
• Batting in the shape of your choice

When I’m picking a charm pack, I’m looking for good contrast between prints — you want some busy, some quiet, so the finished top has a little pop. Fat Quarter Shop has a solid range for all occasions

If you want to add the rick rack: sew it onto the quilt first, lining up the bump edge with the top’s edge. Sew all four strips on — don’t try to turn the corner with the rick rack. Then sew the binding down on top with a 1/4″ seam. Just the bumps peek out from under the binding.
