You’ve been dreaming about making a quilt, but…
- Walking into a fabric store makes you feel lost and overwhelmed
- Quilting patterns look like they’re written in a foreign language
- You’re not sure what tools you actually need (and which ones are just marketing)
- The thought of cutting into beautiful fabric makes you nervous
- You worry about making expensive mistakes
- You’ve watched YouTube tutorials that left you more confused than before

Understanding Makes All the Difference
Here’s what I’ve learned in life: when you understand why each step matters, everything clicks into place. You stop guessing and start creating with confidence.
That’s exactly what happens in Fabric to Finished. This isn’t about rushing through a project or following rules you don’t understand. It’s about building real knowledge that transforms quilting from overwhelming to peaceful.
By the end of this course, you’ll:
- Walk into any fabric store with confidence, knowing exactly how to choose fabrics that work beautifully together
- Read quilting patterns like they’re written in your native language
- Use your tools safely and effectively (including that rotary cutter that might seem scary right now)
- Create accurate cuts and seams
- Handle every step from piecing to binding with understanding and calm
- Have a gorgeous finished tablerunner that proves you CAN make beautiful quilts
Everything step by step
- NO searching YouTube videos for that one video that answers your exact question
- NO lightning speed videos that don’t show you all the little complicated bits.
Learn at your own pace
- Detailed videos showing each step, explaining exactly what you need to do so you have success the first time.
- Just like a friend sitting right next to you helping you make your beautiful quilt.
- Includes detailed PDFs that help in your future quilts.
I’m back after taking your sewing for beginners course to put my new skills into quilting. This is another great course and I really appreciate your style of teaching.

Why Start With a Tablerunner?
You might be wondering – why not dive right into a big quilt?
I want you to succeed, not just survive your first quilting experience.
A tablerunner teaches you every single skill you need for larger quilts, including the skills often NOT included in quilting patterns, but:
- Finishes quickly so you see results fast
- Uses less fabric (easier on the budget and less scary to cut)
- Manageable size that doesn’t overwhelm your space
- Creates something beautiful and useful you’ll actually want to display
- Builds confidence for your next, bigger project
Think of it as your quilting success story waiting to happen.
Here’s What Makes This Course Different
I teach understanding, not just steps.
You’ll know why we press seams a certain direction, why fabric choice matters, and how to troubleshoot when things don’t go exactly as planned.
We start where you actually are.
- Complete beginner? Perfect.
- Never used a rotary cutter? We’ll make it feel natural.
- Worried about making mistakes? I’ll show you how to prevent them and fix them when they happen.
Everything is broken down clearly.
No rushing, no assuming you already know things, no skipping steps. We go from fabric selection to finished binding with confidence.
I’ve been sewing since I was 8. I’ve made clothing, craft projects, curtains, my wedding dress, and most of my children’s clothes when they were young.
Lisa
Even as an experienced sewer, I gained a great deal of useful information from the course and am motivated to give it another go soon.

What’s stopping you?
Overwhelmed by the fabric store?
Detailed video tips about how to pick fabric plus a cheat sheet to take along with you so you won’t forget what you learned when you are faced with all those beautiful choices.

Rotary cutter horror stories?
Detailed videos to show you how to use a rotary cutter safely including the habits that will keep you safe and cutting smoothly in the future.

Too many tools?
I recommend only the most basic tools and explain why you need each one and what to look for when shopping. Know exactly what to look for from sewing machines to pins.

Just learning how to sew?
You don’t need to be an experienced seamstress to make a quilt. As long as you can thread your machine, I can show you how to sew a straight line. And that’s all you need to know to make your first quilt.

Tried before but didn’t finish?
If you’ve used a quilting pattern in the past, you may have been left in the lurch by ‘quilt and bind as desired’. I give you specific quilting design ideas, show you how to quilt with your machine and how to put the final binding on the quilt.

How will this apply to my next quilt?
For the more complicated things I provide detailed PDFs to print out and use for all your future quilts.
Plus, if you want more practice before starting on a big quilt, the included pattern can be used over and over again with different fabric and layouts to make unique table runners for all your family and friends.

What do you need before you start?
Know the basics of using your sewing machine
You need to be able to thread your machine and use it to sew two pieces of fabric together.
A few essential supplies
You will need a few materials and supplies such as a rotary cutter, mat and ruler, pins, fabric, batting, etc. I recommend only the necessities, not all the extra gadgets and tell you exactly what to look for in the store or online.
